My father has been working in the flooring industry for most of his life. He began teaching me about business when I was very young, basic things such as giving the customer a good product, do right by people and you will go far. By the time I was a teenager, I knew enough about flooring to be a professional. When I turned 15 I started my own business doing flooring. Painting driveways, installing stamped concrete, epoxy garage floors, etc. I started selling Johnny Grip and installing it door to to door on the weekends after my decorative concrete jobs. Back then I was young, bursting with energy, and I jumped at every chance I got. Now, business principals are ingrained in me and I’m proud to deliver some of the highest quality products in the industry.

THE BIG IDEA
When Michael was 15 years old, his older sister owned a restaurant. Her restaurant had slippery tile floors and she didn’t know where to turn to get them fixed. So she asked her little brother to help her find a solution and that’s where it all began.
We are proud of how our company has become respected and trusted while serving customers across the world. Below is the story of how a boy with a spark for business and a fathers encouragement came together to form something special.
PRODUCT R & D
There was only one company offering a solution, it was $300 pr gallon and dangerous to work with. Michael’s dad encouraged him to hire a chemist to formulate a better product. Three months later a far better product was developed and Michael named the product after this dad Johnny.
SELLING & INSTALLING
Michael’s dad drives him around so he can cold call restaurant owners door to door. It was hard for people to take a 15 yr old kid seriously, even though he had the solution to their problem. Being treated like a “salesman” was trial by fire at a very young age.
START SELLING ON-LINE
Michael begins designing high quality packaging, with directions based on 3 years of encountering every problem imaginable. Soon, there is an easy-to-use system for the everyday DIY enthusiast. Johnny Grip then becomes the 2nd company to sell an etching treatment on-line in the USA.
HANDYMAN MAGAZINE FEATURES US
Handyman Magazine secretly purchases Johnny Grip for a head to head shoot out of all products on the market. A few months later they feature Johnny Grip in their April 2006 Easy-Care Home Issue. This one article single-handedly helped save our little company and defined our future.
As time went on the internet exploded and many other chemical manufacturers decided they wanted their piece of the non-slip industry. Websites were cheap to build and the market was flooded with people offering their own brand of product.
CONTRACTORS EARN MONEY USING OUR INSTALLER KIT
Using our ground up experience we’ve composed a door to door installer kit for people who want to earn extra money. We have many success stories of people making a consistent $50k per year, selling and installing door to door.
